New for 2021: For the first time in the history of model railways, a locomotive appears on the model of the large railway, bearing the logos of the two model railway companies Märklin and PIKO carries. A special feature of the locomotive 218 497-6 is an eye-catching special paintwork, which is the result of a creative competition among the employees of DB Fahrzeuginstandhalte GmbH (FZI).
It symbolizes the history of the Cottbus location, which is influenced by the steam locomotive From repairs to maintenance of ICEs. The locomotive will continue to be located at the FZI Cottbus in the future and will be available to customers as a replacement locomotive. The two model railway manufacturers Märklin and PIKO act as joint advertising partners for this project.
The company logos of both manufacturers are alternately attached to the front sides of the locomotive, both on the original and on the model. The PIKO logo adorns the black half, the Märklin logo on the light gray one.
