The two-axle Lgs 580 container wagons have an interesting history. They were created from sliding wall wagons of the type Hbis 297 / 299, which were no longer used in general cargo transport and were then converted between 1998 and 2000 into the container wagons that are now required. Their capacity includes two 20-foot containers up to a maximum of one 40-foot container. On the other hand, the type Sgns 691 container wagons equipped with bogies can be loaded with three 20-foot containers, two 30-foot containers or one 45-foot container.
