Stop-and-go on the rails. As with the larger model, the signals also fulfill important control and safety functions in the model. Märklin signals regulate traffic because they not only show prototypical signal images, but also directly influence the trains. When they stop, they de-energize the central conductor and overhead line in their area - the train stops. When traveling slowly or freely, they switch on the power - the train moves through or starts again. If you like it even more realistic, set up distant signals at an appropriate distance that are linked to your main signals and display corresponding signal images. Light and shape signals are switched conventionally via the 7272/72720 control panel and in the digital system via the magnetic accessory decoder. In conjunction with switching tracks or switching contacts, the signals can also be controlled by the moving train and thus many operational processes can be automated.
